The Company

Job description

This position is based at our facility in the Netherlands (Leiden), where we focus on rare genetic diseases affecting the nervous system as well as neurodegenerative diseases, using in vivo mouse models. In this role, you will help coordinate scientific projects and translate hands-on study knowledge into high-quality, accurate and structured work protocols and related documentation that can be used consistently across the organization.

Key responsibilities are:

  • Support the team to coordinate and execute studies via scientific literature research, support of study design and study plan drafting, support project management, planning and operational study execution, data analysis, statistics and reporting.
  • Act as the scientific interface between study teams, translating in vivo study execution into clear, structured and usable work protocols and templates.
  • Build and maintain deep knowledge of our in vivo services, study workflows and critical process steps to ensure procedures are technically accurate and fit-for-purpose.
  • Support scientific project delivery by contributing to high-quality study documentation (e.g., input to study plans and reports) and ensuring alignment with internal procedures and reporting tools.
  • Contribute to quality oversight and continuous improvement by supporting deviations/non-conformities investigations, root cause analysis and pragmatic, risk-based improvements to operational processes.
  • Assist with internal audits and sponsor/regulatory inspections and help develop/deliver related training to strengthen consistent execution across teams.

Requirements

You have a PhD or Master degree in life sciences, with considerable experience in the field of preclinical (in vivo) research, preferably in neuroscience. You are a strong scientific project manager with in-depth scientific and technical expertise. You enjoy translating complex hands-on study activities into clear, structured and accurate procedures. Experience working in a regulated biotech/CRO environment with emphasis on quality assurance and documentation (QMS) is a strong plus. You are flexible, proactive, cooperative and want to make the difference. You have strong attention to detail, an analytical mindset and excellent written and verbal communication skills to align stakeholders across the organization. Fluency in English is essential to connect with customers, and fluency in Dutch is preferred given local (Dutch) regulations and procedures.
